Deep Tissue Massage releases chronic muscle tension and providing pain relief from injuries and the overuse of muscles by working on the deeper muscle layers and connective tissues. I use a combination of techniques to locate trigger points in the muscles that might be causing you pain.
A slow and firm approach is used to loosen and realign the muscles and supporting tissues. This is great for stiff and achy muscles, relaxation and stress relief and tension from poor posture. Working through all the layers of tissues from the superficial fascia to the deeper muscles you’ll get a sense of relief from pain and stiffness.
This massage technique isn’t just for sports injuries or athletes! Any repetitive or physically strenuous action can cause pain, tension and imbalances to the muscles and their connective tissues. This could be from using a computer, poor posture, lifting heavy items, gardening and from other hobbies and sports.
The aim of Sports Massage is to increase movement in the joints, reduce pain and discomfort to the muscles and soft tissues. Stretching and soft tissue release may be used as part of this treatment. Deep tissue massage strokes are used to warm up the muscles and release any trigger points that may be contributing to your pain.
